If you don’t know anything about Search Engine Optimization or SEO, it’s the process of making your website rank on Google for your most relevant keywords. It’s composed of two parts: on-page optimization and linking.
On-page optimization refers to optimizing your website so that it becomes more relevant to the search engines.
With website optimization, it’s important to put your main keyword on your home page, in the title and description. Your main keyword should have the highest number of searches. Your blog posts, meanwhile, should also be optimized in the same, although NOT all of them should be.
SEO has changed a lot since Google made different updates to its algorithm. As it stands today, user experience is also a factor in the ranking. SEO Explained that Google needs to see that your content is being shared by your visitors and that they are staying on your website and reading its pages. That said, make sure you have great content on your website that’s meant for visitors, not the search engines.
Link building is another important aspect of SEO. But not just any link building. If you take a look at Google’s official blog, you will see that the search engines insist on you NOT building links to your site yourself. Essentially, what they’re saying is that you should focus on great content so that other websites will naturally want to link to you. But if you take this route, nothing is ever going to happen to you or your website.
That said, you will still need to proactively created links to your website, however, you need to be careful about leaving any footprints that Google can trace. These days, the best type of links are those from High PR website (PR of at least 3) and that is related to your website.
